Children and youth represent 67% of Saudi population

RIYADH — Children and youth represent 67 percent of the Saudi population in the current year, according to the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT). Young Saudis in the age group of 15-34 years make up 36.7 percent of the Kingdom’s total population, the authority said in a special report titled “Report of Saudi youth in numbers,” released on Sunday to mark the World Youth Day 2020, which falls on Wednesday Aug. 12.

Al-Baha governor inaugurates orphan care group

AL-BAHA: Prince Hussam bin Saud bin Abdul Aziz, governor of Al-Baha region, has inaugurated the Rafiq Association for Orphan Care in Al-Mikhwah to serve over 300 villages and sponsor more than 270 orphans.

Ukraine to open borders visa-free for Saudis

RIYADH: Saudi nationals will no longer need a visa to enter Ukraine, providing a strong impetus to further intensify business and people-to-people ties, the Ukrainian envoy to the Kingdom has said.

According to a presidential decree, Saudis will now be allowed to enter Ukraine as of Aug. 1, 2020 and stay up to 90 days.

Janadriyah festival postponed until 1Q of 2021

RIYADH: The Saudi Culture Ministry has postponed the Janadriyah National Heritage and Culture Festival until the first quarter of 2021 as a precaution against the coronavirus.
